Home Care vs. Home Health
While “Home Care” and “Home Health” do have similarities, they are not interchangeable. Home Health services includes various forms of medical care that must be performed by a licensed healthcare professional. Home Care is often referred to as personal care, companion care, custodial care or homemaker services. In some cases, it may be beneficial and/or necessary to utilize both Home Health professionals for medical support and Home Care aides to assist with everyday tasks.
At each step, our focus is on you. From learning about your wishes and answering your questions to creating a care plan just for you and matching you with the right caregiver, you are our priority. And it doesn’t stop there—we’ll be right there with you throughout the care process giving you and your family the support you need.
Home Care Services
Home Care Home care staffing is available 24 hours a day, and is performed by attendant care aides and home makers. Services include:
Assistance with dressing, bathing, toileting and transferring or moving around the house
Cleaning, laundry and other household tasks
Companionship
Meal preparation/delivery
Transportation to appointments or errands
Medication reminders
How is it paid?
Patients may utilize Home Care services for as long as they want, based on qualifications and needs.
Home Care is typically paid out of pocket (private pay)
Medicaid can be utilized for income-qualified seniors, although coverage amounts and terms vary by state
Long-term care insurance only covers Home Care if it’s included in an existing plan
Health insurance, Veterans benefits, or worker’s compensation also may cover Home Care
